Program Overview
Program Structure
Online and In-Person
Education Career Alternative Program (E-CAP) is both online and in-person. A teacher that signs up with ECAP can choose to do in-person trainings or online trainings; it is the personal decision of the teacher.
Accreditation Status
According to Chapter 229 of the Texas Administrative Code, each EPP shall be held accountable to the rules of EPP accountability adopted by the State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC). Currently, E-CAP hold an “Accredited – Warned” status with the SBEC.
Quick Take
Education Career Alternative Program (E-CAP) is a family owned and operated, hands-on ACP in Texas. Reviewers cite a strong attention to detail and care for the teachers. In one year, 3 of their first year teachers were named “Teacher of the Year” – which is very impressive.
It seems, based on reviews, that the family operation can get jammed with communication and not be as attentive as some of their candidates desire.

Biggest Compliment
Professionalism and service. Many of the top reviews highlight how helpful E-CAP was in navigating the confusing process of teacher certification. One reviewer- who is a field supervisor- highlighted how 3 of the teachers from ECAP were named “Teacher of the Year” in their first year of teaching.
Primary Compliant
Reviewers have highlighted sometimes confusion, contradictory, or unresponsive customer service. The common thread of negative reviews is communication can be hard and is dependent on ECAP responding to the inquiry; the reviews highlight it can be very hard to get in touch with someone at ECAP when it seems ECAP does not want to communicate.
