Who was your favorite teacher growing up?

Terry Caputo he taught history in a way that made me excited for class every day! He also gave me my first job painting houses over the summer. Though he’s no longer here, the impact he made on my life will always stay with me.

I once had a pet rabbit named Professor Hoppy Pants.

If you could swap roles with a teacher for a day, what grade level would you teach?

If I could swap roles with a teacher for a day, I’d choose to teach kindergarten. Not only would I get to witness the pure excitement kids have for learning, but I’d also have a valid excuse to rock those awesome macaroni art necklaces.

What was your favorite subject in school?

Computer Science because it takes concepts from chemistry, physics, and math and builds abstractions upon them, allowing us to create digital representations of structures that exist only in nature.

Who was your favorite teacher growing up?

My Grandpa. He let me try things, helped me recognize areas for growth, and gently pointed out the lessons I could learn from my mistakes

What’s a small win that always makes your day better?

If I did one thing to help someone, then that makes the day worth it.

If you could go back and take any class again, which one would it be?

In high school, I took Facing History and Ourselves, a class that explored major historical events through the perspectives of those who lived them. It profoundly shaped how I see myself, others, and the world a defining moment in my life. Shoutout to Coach Wood!

My favorite teacher was my third-grade teacher, Mrs. D’Elia. She was kind, encouraging, and made learning joyful. I still remember the Atlanta Braves stickers she put on our graded papers because her brother played in the MLB I thought that was so cool!

I have run two full marathons and five half marathons.

I would teach 11th grade. By then, students have moved past the “you’re cool” phase (K-8) and the “you’re not cool” phase (9-10) and finally reach the “Oh, you actually know what you’re talking about” phase.

Helping people on their personal journey is my calling in life, and I get to assist smart, passionate individuals every day as they pursue their dream of teaching.

What was your favorite subject in school?

Math is my absolute favorite subject! I’ve always loved it, and I still do. There’s something satisfying about knowing there’s always a right answer, and I enjoy the challenge of figuring out the different ways to get there.

My favorite subject in school was history. I loved learning about the events, places, and people that came before me—it was fascinating.

I love tennis and enjoy teaching my kids the game.

If you had to take teacher certification test, which one do you think you could pass on the first-try?

TExES and I think I would specifically do well in TExES CORE Subjects EC-6 (391): Mathematics. I spend a lot of time looking at TExES and mathematics would be fun!

What’s a fun fact about you that most people don’t know?

I am a third-generation Mexican American and the first in my family to graduate from college.

If you had to take teacher certification test, which one do you think you could pass on the first-try?

Studying high-quality content is key to passing. I spent hours preparing for my TExES 7-12 Science exam, and while it wasn’t the most fun, it was worth it. Put in the effort you’ll thank yourself when you pass on the first try!

If you could go back and take any class again, which one would it be?

Geography! I wish I had paid more attention in class I never realized how much location shapes the world’s economy, cultures, and interconnected systems.

Who was your favorite teacher growing up?

Mrs. Lohman, my kindergarten teacher, was the sweetest and most encouraging person. She embodied kindness and warmth exactly what young children need as they adjust to school and navigate such a big change.

What’s a fun fact about you that most people don’t know?

I’m a huge theme park nerd. I’ve been to every Disney Park in the world. I guess you could say that I’m always up for an adventure!

Why do you love working at 240?

Today, we should start thinking of teachers as heroes. Being part of a company that genuinely supports future teachers in entering the profession is incredibly fulfilling.

If you could swap roles with a teacher for a day, what grade level would you teach?

I’ve substitute taught in high schools and middle schools, so I have some insight into their experiences. If I could teach for a day, I’d choose 5th grade they’re not quite middle schoolers yet! 🙂

If you could go back and take any class again, which one would it be?

Maybe a high school writing class? I feel like there’s an amateur author in me who should have been awakened years ago.

Who was your favorite teacher growing up?

Mr. Fry, my Ag teacher, saw something in me before I did. He pushed me beyond my comfort zone, leading me to unexpected experiences—like raising and showing goats in FFA! But the moment that changed my path was when he entered me in an FFA radio competition, sparking my passion for communications and shaping my future. That’s why I love what I do with 240—helping support the next generation of inspiring educators like him (and maybe a few more show goats too! 🤣).

“Be Better Every Day” is my favorite value because it recognizes that growth is a journey, not a demand for perfection. We all make mistakes, face challenges, and learn along the way. I love that 240 embraces progress—encouraging us to improve a little each day and become the best version of ourselves.

I would go back and teach first grade again for a day! Teaching allowed me to shape the future by inspiring and empowering students. There is nothing that beats watching a child learn to read for the first time!

Pace yourself! Instead of cramming last minute, create a study calendar and spread your studying out over time. You’ll feel more confident and have a better chance of passing.

Third-grade math! I love how students begin to think critically about math and how it connects to so many real-world situations.

My favorite teacher was Mrs. Covell, my orchestra teacher. She treated me with respect, saw my talent, and always encouraged me to seek the resources I needed to become a better viola player.

I have been skydiving, jumping from a perfectly good plane to plummet to the earth held up by a canopy of nylon.

Why do you love working at 240?

I love the people at 240! They always look out for each other and genuinely care about our customers and their challenges. They truly embody the company value of “Serve as a Team, Win as a Team.”

What was your favorite subject in school?

I’ve always loved history—especially ancient and medieval history. I’m fascinated by impossible victories, legendary figures, and entirely different ways of seeing the world. So it’s no surprise that I often find myself thinking about the Roman Empire.

Who was your favorite teacher growing up?

Mr. Blessing, who taught math and science at my small school, was one of my favorite teachers. Easygoing and personable, he kept things fun with jokes and made even the driest material engaging.

What was your favorite subject in school?

I loved algebra and all of my programming/ web design classes!

If you could swap roles with a teacher for a day, what grade level would you teach?

I would teach second grade because they’re old enough to understand more but still young enough to be imaginative and excited about the silly games you create for them.

What’s a fun fact about you that most people don’t know?

I haven’t watched a single minute of the last two super bowls. It’s been amazing.

Too many reasons to list! It’s the best company I’ve ever worked for, and I feel truly fulfilled in my roles. Our mission is inspiring, our leadership is transparent, and our team is incredible.

What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone studying for their certification test?

Don’t rely solely on practice tests—surface-level knowledge won’t improve your chances of passing. Review the TExES Preparation Manual, learn key concepts, and use resources like 240 Tutoring. Then, take a practice test, analyze your results, and refine your understanding. You’ve got this!

Who was your favorite teacher growing up?

Mr. Neil Smith, my high school band director, was more than a teacher he was a mentor who pushed us to excel while genuinely caring for us. Through his leadership, I learned discipline, teamwork, and accountability skills that still impact me today. Some of my best memories come from winning the 2A State Championship under his direction.

My favorite teacher was Pam Franklin, my high school English teacher and cheer coach. She believed in me, nurtured my leadership skills, and supported me through life’s challenges. Her genuine care and encouragement left a lasting impact on who I am today.

Checking off most of my to-do list and finding a way to brighten someone else’s day no matter how small are little wins that always leave me feeling accomplished and uplifted.

Mrs. G! She was my first grade teacher and showed me just how important it is to build strong relationships with students. She still sends our family Christmas cards every year and continues to be a constant supporter to this day!

Throughout my teaching career, I’ve been certified in four different states!

What was your favorite subject in school?

Reading! Growing up in Puerto Rico, books were hard to come by, so whenever I got one, it felt like an escape. Whether reading a story or acting out a play, it gave me a way to step into a whole new world.

What’s a small win that always makes your day better?

The best part of my day is helping applicants and providing clarity to their questions. I love hearing, “I feel so much better after speaking with you” it truly makes my day to know I’ve made a difference.

I enjoyed many subjects in school, but I always excelled in English. English is my second language. I didn’t speak it when I started kindergarten, but by high school, I was in honors and AP English. I owe my love of reading to my amazing English teachers who introduced me to the classics.

My favorite teacher growing up was Mrs. Georgia Ann Pristernik because she made 2nd grade so much fun. I will never forget her goody box that we all loved pulling surprises out of!

CTE Teaching and Learning at the high school level I’ve always wanted to be a teacher who helps future teachers. As a high school student, I had the opportunity to take this CTE class, and it played a big role in shaping me into the educator I am today!

Second! It was always my favorite level to teach. Students have gotten a taste of learning and they want to learn so much more! They are eager learners!

Learn terminology. Learn and really understand how to apply it. And carefully read the questions!

Mrs. Janet Davis was my favorite teacher because she pushed me to grow and never let me just get by. She challenged me to adapt, gave me leadership opportunities, and set high expectations. She was not only my favorite high school teacher but also my mentor during my first year in education.

EC-6 Core Subjects or the STR just because that is what I spent almost 10 years focused on! (Is that cheating, haha?)

Don’t try to cram. Break it into chunks over a certain time span and really absorb the information.

Who was your favorite teacher growing up?

Ms. Taylor, my fifth-grade math teacher, made class enjoyable and is the reason I fell in love with math. She was patient, enthusiastic, and explained things in a way that built my confidence. No matter how my day started, I always left her class smiling.
